Making
the World More Beautiful
One Face at a Time.
Yvonne
Ortiz has had a life-long love affair with fashion and style. It’s
no mystery where Yvonne’s passion for beauty originated. She
has been immersed in the world of fashion and design since birth.
Yvonne learned the art of fashion and design from her mother, who
worked with such influential designers as and Galanos and Edith Head.
Yvonne's early foray into the world of fashion was at the tender age
of five when she designed and sewed her first dress. By the age of
seventeen her fashion interests had evolved into a full-fledged love
of hair and makeup design. Over the last twenty years, Yvonne has
mastered the skills and expertise that place her at the top of her
game in the profession of makeup and hair design.
Yvonne received training with some of the innovators in the world
of hair and makeup including AVEDA, Sonia Kashuk, Ginger Boyle and
Gary Gerard. She has worked professionally with such companies as
Sony, People Magazine, More Magazine and Toys R’ Us and with
products lines such as AVEDA, Benefit, Vincent Longo, Origins and
Clarins. Yvonne has also shared her talent as an instructor with the
students of the International School of Cosmetology and Marinello
Schools of Beauty. She has worked in fashion and portrait photography
and film. She has worked with notable photographers and filmmakers
such as Dana Fineman, Maria Rangel, Robert Lynden, Bryan Root, Rich
Newey and with actors Sam Anderson, John Ritter, Carmen Thomas, and
David Lascher. Reagan Dale Neis, star of “Stations” and
”Maybe it’s Me“ says, “Yvonne is one of the
top three make-up artists I have worked with in my career.”
Yvonne is a master of the art of creating a “nude” or
no makeup look, a technique of applying makeup that requires great
skill in order to make the subject appear natural and radiant. Also
trained in floral design, Yvonne feels quite comfortable introducing
natural elements to her work.
In addition to her broad range of talent and expertise, Yvonne brings
her dynamic personality to her work, balancing dedication and professionalism
with a sense of lightness, fun and creativity. Her calm demeanor is
an asset to the often-hectic environments of photography and film.
She continues to develop her craft and is always open to creating
something new and innovative for her clients while, at the same time,
supporting their aesthetic vision. Yvonne has an innate ability to
connect with her clients in such a way that they leave her makeup
chair with a renewed sense of their own beauty and radiance.
Yvonne’s natural talent and eye for design has inspired her
to create a set of makeup set bags designed especially for the unique
needs of professionals in the makeup industry.
Yvonne’s sincere appreciation for beauty and her passion for
working with people shows in the magnificent work she does. “After
20 years in the industry I still love what I do! I truly have the
best job in the world. I look forward to every new face and every
new day.”
